Postulants, India

Two new postulants, Sathya and Sujatha, entered our Community on 18th November, having completed their, ‘come and see’ phase.

The word ‘postulant’ is from the Latin ‘postulare’ meaning ‘to ask’.  For some time, the enquirers have come to experience life in the community.   Their progression to Postulancy means they are now asking to join.  This stage lasts for 6 to 12 months.

Please pray for our postulants that the Lord will be their guide as they begin this new step of discernment in Franciscan vocation.

‘So, under the Lord’s guidance, let them set out on a life of penance, knowing that we are all obliged to constant conversion of heart.’ (TOR Rule, Ch 2, n.6).

The Friendship Singers

The summer concert performed by The Friendship Singers planned for 29th June 2020 has had to be postponed due to coronavirus restrictions on gathering and travel.  The next concert will be held when this again becomes possible.  Please check here for updates.

The Friendship Singers Christmas concert in St. Joseph’s Convent Chapel on 9th December 2019 was well attended. A retiring collection in aid of the Thejomaya De-Addiction Centre in Mysore, India, together with later donations, raised a total of £500.00. We are grateful to the choir for giving their time and talents and to all who contributed to the event.
